About KUTOYIMONA

Hello! My name is Xavier Laurent Muepo, and I am a freelance audio engineer. I graduated from Long Beach City College with an Associate of Arts in Television Production, along with a certificate in the same field and Multimedia Production. As my education suggests, KUTOYIMONA is an Audio/Visual business that centers on producing live events such as church services, music, and dance recitals.

The name KUTOYIMONA is a portmanteau of two words in my grandparents’ native language Tshiluba. They taught me a few words and key principles which led to its creation, and it roughly means “To make sound and look.” From ‘Mutoyi’ which means “sound,” ‘Mona’, which means “look/see,” and the prefix “Ku” which turns any word into a verb forms the name “KUTOYIMONA", which is the attempt to translate the English words “Audio” and “Visual” into Tshiluba.
